International Association of Yoga Therapists Privacy Commitment
The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) is committed to
protecting the privacy of visitors to our website and the privacy of our
members. It is our goal to ensure that the information you submit to us remains
private, and is used only for the purposes as set forth herein. This Statement
reflects our commitment to you.
Information About All IAYT Website Visitors
In general, we only gather information about our website visitors collectively,
such as what areas users visit most frequently and what services and
information users access the most. We only use such data anonymously and in the
aggregate. This information helps us determine what is of most interest to our
visitors, and how we can continually create a better website for you.
Information About Our Members
IAYT does not sell, has never sold, and does not intend to sell personal data
about visitors or members to marketers.
We intend to provide basic contact information for our members on our site as a
service to members and visitors. All members will be provided the opportunity
to opt out of this service. If you initially choose to display contact
information and then later decide not to, simply log onto your account and edit
your account preferences. If there is any difficulty or error, please call or
email us.
Additional information about our professional members may also be available on
our site for those that choose professional membership. All professional
members will be provided the opportunity to opt out of this service. If you
initially choose to display professional information and then later decide not
to, simply log onto your account and edit your account preferences. Again, if
there is any difficulty, or error, please call or email us.
IAYT may collect, for internal use, statistical information about our
membership in order that we may better serve them. This may include such
information as the distribution of our membership by location, "style", age,
etc., as well as other information an association may reasonably collect in
order to better understand and serve its membership.
This statistical information may also be used, in the aggregate, as IAYT works
to serve the mission of the organization. For example, we may wish to answer
questions such as "What % of our members have been teaching more than 10
years?" or "What % of our members are also health professionals and/or
researchers?"
In order to better serve our membership and visitors, IAYT also may survey our
members and website visitors from time to time about their preferences and
suggestions.
General Information Disclosure
We do not disclose information about your individual visits to the IAYT website
or personal membership information that you provide but choose not to display,
such as your contact information or professional information, except when we
believe the law requires it.
Updating Account Information
IAYT allows you to change or correct your personal information at any time. To
do so, simply log onto your IAYT account and you will find options for editing
the information you have submitted.
Online Order Security
When you place an order online, your personal details and credit card
information are scrambled using SSL encryption technology before being sent
over the Internet. Although we cannot absolutely guarantee encryption or the
privacy of your personal details and credit card information, SSL makes it very
difficult for your information to be stolen or intercepted while being
transferred. When we receive your order, it is kept encrypted until we are
ready to process it.
Cookies
To improve the quality of your IAYT visits, we may use a feature on your
Internet browser called a "cookie." Cookies are small files that your Web
browser places on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are used for remembering
user names and passwords, preferences, tracking click streams, and for load
balancing. The use of cookies allows for faster service; consistent, updated
results; and a more personalized site experience. You do have the option of
setting your browser to reject cookies. Doing this, however, may hinder
performance and may negatively impact your experience on our site.
Privacy Commitment Changes
If we decide to change our privacy commitment for IAYT, we will post the
changes here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we
might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone. If, at
any time, you have questions or concerns about IAYT's privacy commitment,
please feel free to contact us.
